Blacksmithing again, fixed up [Balenes] bread cart, took nearly all day.  Then got another big six horse wagon into the shop. Got a splendid letter from dear Sara.  Went up and called on Mrs. Mead, got some [appers].

Attended both Sunday school and service.  I went down to Jessi’s in the eve.  It has been chilly all looks like snow.

Blacksmithing again, finished Eaton’s great big wagon, went to a choir meeting in the evening.  Lowell Woods left here to [?] else where tonight, he is partially deranged.

Blacksmithing again, worked on Eatens big wagon.  Been pretty cold all day.  Kearney cut his finger pretty bad to day so bad he fainted away.  I took him out of the shop, got a notice of a dance in Stow tonight.

Blacksmithing again, jobed all day.  Did nothing of any [particular] importance.  I went to the exhibition in the eve.  I took Hattie along to be in the style and to keep on the good side of the family.  50 cts out, no matter, I don’t very often.

Blacksmithing again, did some jobing, I put on a set of tires 1 ½ x ½ [got] 1 ½ x [5/8]. Did a very good job.  Went down to Mr. Wiggin and rehearsed for a opera.

Blacksmithing again, worked on heavy work some, and alone some jobing it.  Has been real cold all day, went to Lodge, had a nice time.  My ink is frozen, so I take a pensil [sic].
